ABOUT ME

So far in computer science, I have learned a lot about coding! I didn't know how to do any of this before so it's been challenging but I feel like I am starting to understand and memorise things! Using terminal has been the most challanging for be because it is very precise. So far, I am very proud of my website and hope to make it even better in the future!

This week I worked on adding more designs to my website. I added shadows, icons, etc but am even more excited to start working on my projects! I have started my code sketches for both the painting project I'm thinking of and the quiz idea. Since I don't have any projects yet, I put a temporary "neon" sign there just so it wasn't left blank. I also made this page a gradient scroll so when more entries are on here there will be a gradient as you scroll but for now its going to just look like this but I hope it'll look cooler in the future. I'm excited to keep on adding to my website!

Date: T2 UPDATE

When I started cs1 this year, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. By the end of the first week, I had already learned so much! After the first month, I had the basics of my website and was having so much fun! Then, I learned how to add designs and make the website more me which I love! That has been my favorite part so far this year! The project that I think is extremely difficult but hope to accomplish soon is my painting game! I struggle with javascript a lot and that involves a lot of javascript. The thing I think I've gotten the best at so far this year is terminal. It used to be super hard for me, but now it is muscle memory and I can do it practically in my sleep! One thing I hope to add is some fun interactive or something to my homepage. I think it is a little too plain and simple right now and I hope that with a little fun game or click around, I can make it a little more fun than it already is! I really hope that by the end of T3 I will understand javascript better, and that my website will look absolutely amazing!

This week I learned how to make an animation! It was super difficult but I think I am figuring it out! I still super don't understand javascript but I'm trying... I ended up leaving the neons for my projects but having that say what my projects are! I am still super determined to make my painting game once I figure out how to do it! For now, I have still just coded the pallet but I think that looks pretty cool so far! I am also working on having an interactive on my home page because it is looking very blank and I am not a fan of that. I hope it will look super good soon!

This week I made a randomizer code. The pictures were all a little different and it doesn't look that great but hopefully in the future it will look better! I am hoping my painting game will come together soon so I am looking foreward to having that done in the future.

This week I made my counter! It counts a bunch of hearts and there are many many many hearts down the page. This and my drawing with hearts are two of my favorites because they match the heart logo both on the class page and on my tabs which I love! Can't wait to add more!

Yesterday was mothers day and I showed my mom the card I made for her in computer science! She loved it and thought it was so sweet which made me happy because I worked super hard on it. I used someone else's codesketch for inspiration, but added many details that made it my own and specialized with my mom! I am so happy she loved it and I am so happy how it turned out!

Date: COMP SCI RECAP

Throughout the course of these past two trimesters, I have gone from knowing absolutely nothing about coding to knowing what I am doing in designing a website! In the first few weeks, I learned how to change the background color, make headings, and that was pretty much about it... Slowly over time, I got the hang of it and learned sizing, different fonts, text shadow, and a lot more decorative features! The creative parts of CSS are my favorite part because even if you have the exact same code sketch as someone else, you will always have differences because of how you personally choose to design it. Then came javascript. I'm not going to lie this part was the hardest for me because after getting used to the new language of CSS, I had to teach my brain another way of thinking and a new way of coding which didn't make as much sense to me and was extremely difficult for a very long time. Functions and variables weren't too bad, but then we added on get.Element and it was pretty confusing if I'm being honest. At the beginning and even still now I am so thankful that I found a site that helped me with so many codes I didn't know and taught me things in a different way which wasn't always better, but it was new and sometimes that just made things easier. I then started learning about clicks and event listeners which is how I made what I think is the most fun codesketch of mine to play around with. This is my draw with hearts codesketch which matches my logo throughout my website! Next, I worked on the codesketch that although I don't use it for this purpose, I think can be extremely helpful with who I am. I can be super indecisive so my which seltzer are you codesketch can be perfect for me. It originally was going to be a personality test type of thing, but when I thought about it more, it made more sense to make it into a picker if you can't decide what you want it is perfect, but since that isn't what it's intended for I decided to not change the name because I wanted to keep the original name to it. I then started to work on my mothers day card for my mom which she ended up loving so yay! That was so cute because not only was it fun to make, but it was meaningful too! I would say that my favorite part of my website is my journals page because I think it looks the best, I love how the word journal doesn't move, and I absolutely love how its a gradient but you dont even know that until you scroll because it goes so slowly! Overall this class was so much fun and I am so sad that the class is over but I hope to continue coding and possibly added more codesketches and projects to my webside as I continue on with everything!
